Societat Micològica Valenciana

Acording with the growing interest in mushrooms in our community, at the fellowship lunch held on the day of the Quatretonda exhibition, it was agreed to form a Mycological Society in the Valencian Community. Among the aims that the Management Committee approved by statute, the following stand out:
Study the different mycological species of our community.
Disseminate knowledge of these species, both among members and among the general public, through conferences, exhibitions and publications.
Help health institutions in the diagnosis of the mushroom causing poisoning.
Raise awareness among administrative entities of the importance of studying and publishing our mycological wealth.
Promote respect for the environment and especially for mushrooms, due to the importance they have in maintaining the plant ecosystems of our forests.
